If I were to open the cupboard and see that I had half a loaf of bread and a couple spoonfuls of peanut butter, I would feel that I did not have food in the house. What about the family that had just buried their mother and the father had to sell the stove to pay for the next meal? That, my friends, is need!
Ok, get a grip! What is the goal here? Is it orderly pantries or valued relationships?
I’ve really been taking note of “presentation,” lately, with myself as well as those around me. No, I’m not talking about speaking engagements, but day to day communications, be it verbal, written (wow, hope I’m passing that one!), or body language. Even music communication. ? ? ?
I heard a story once, about a guy who went to a car dealer in worn-out jeans, to buy a car. The dealer barely gave him the time of day. I mean, hey, he didn’t look like he had enough money for a junker on the used car lot, let alone a “decent” car.
How many times, in our lives, do we pass by that little red hen who may need a helping hand and thought “not by job?”
It really puts it in perspective. Instead of complaining about all of the bad things that are (or could be happening), one can be thankful that they are vertical and taking nourishment.
